Atlantic Canada has advantages for business that we showcase to the world over three days in a modern, world-class facility, the Halifax Convention Centre. Our primary strength is fostering relationships in the supply chain for major Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) procurements. Businesses, CAF leadership, end users and the many government agencies that support the process, are all in attendance at DEFSEC Atlantic. It has become a critical destination for getting to know Canada and more specifically Atlantic Canada.

With participation from dozens of countries, DEFSEC Atlantic is an entry point for international cooperation in the Canadian defence ecosystem. Our “open door” policy has no requirements for membership, or restrictions that slow down your desire to find partnerships for your role in the industry. Key Prime procurement contract winners attend to fill their supply chain with reliable partners. Federal and provincial agencies/departments attend to act as the connectors and facilitators of these relationships. “Ships Start Here” but that’s not all, by any means. We create connections to land, sea, and air projects along with complimentary focus on areas like cyber security and artificial intelligence that cross all domains.

We are addressing the common challenge of talent development and acquisition with programs that bring both graduating secondary AND post-secondary students to the event. One of the many strengths of our region is that it has several institutions that can educate and provide the industry’s current and future work forces. Our Academic Day of Connection and Academic Showcase are steering the next generations towards you, as we shine a light on employment opportunities in the sector, as well as the educational paths they need to follow to get there.
