OVERVIEW

Reporting to the Project Director assign to the Frigates Program, the Assistant Project manager, the assistant Project Manager will support and assists the Project Director in his day to day tasks to ensure that tasks and projects are delivered within time, budget and quality required.

This is a key role in one of the largest ship repair programs currently underway at Davie Shipyard. As Assistant Project Manager, you will be second in command for a $ 1,5 billion program and a project employing 400 workers

All successful applicants must meet requirements for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Canadian Government Security clearance, and U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).

KEY RESPONSIBILITES

• Support Project Management in one or more contractual tasks as part of the DWP Project to ensure successful performance of contract tasks, to include on time deliverables, within budget and in accordance with technical requirements
• Interact with Canadian Government and Royal Canadian Navy DWP Program personnel
• Plan and coordinate multiple activities, subcontractors and tasks to meet program schedule requirements
• Work in accordance with the Integrated Master Schedule for the project
• Work in accordance with the Earned Value Management System into the DWP Project Office
• Plan, manage and report on budgets, schedule and progress within the EVM environment
• Assist with project administration functions such as document control, risk management, etc.

REQUIREMENTS

• All successful applicants must meet requirements for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Canadian Government Security clearance, and U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR)
• Bachelor’s Degree (mechanical, industrial Engineering…)
• Relevant experience in project management in a production environment (maintenance, leverage, contract change, team management, relations with supervisors and trade workers, shot down planning…)
• Understanding of Earned Value Management
• Proven ability to achieve high performance levels in a complex fast moving environment
• Proven experience adapting to new computer programs and systems (Visio, MS project
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• PMP designation would be a definite asset
