This is a reminder that submissions are open for speaker and presentation proposals for the upcoming Imagine Marine Conference 2024. The deadline for submission is May 15th, 2024.
Please include the following your proposals:
- The name of the speaker
- The title or theme of the presentation
- A brief ~150 word summary of the presentation and how it meets one of our areas of interest (see below)
We are seeking presentations in the following areas:
- Workforce development, labour market or training research related to the marine sector and/or that would help inform marine sector practices or approaches.
- Pilot projects, practices and programs that could help address key challenges for attracting employees and/or students into the Canadian marine sector.
- Initiatives/best practices that address retention challenges (e.g. upskilling training/career progression, isolation, work-life balance, parenthood support, connectivity, anti-harassment measures, mentoring, and inclusivity).
- Perspectives, strategies and/or workshops to improve the understanding of workforce diversity/inclusion; and increase attraction and retention of underrepresented groups in the marine sector.
